Will Microsoft & VMware’s New Partnership Boost Cloud Computing Growth?
It would seem that Microsoft has taken a page from its cloud computing rival, Amazon Web Services that partnered with VMware Inc. in 2016 to draw customers to its network. Recently, it was reported that Microsoft (MSFT) is currently partnering with VMware Inc. to attract more customers to its Azure cloud computing. Since VMware’s founding two decades ago, their employees and ecosystem of 75,000 partners have been behind the technology innovations transforming entire industries—from banking, healthcare, and government to retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, and transportation. Every day, VMware works to solve their customers’ toughest challenges through disruptive technologies like edge computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning, Kubernetes and more–to define the digital foundation that will accelerate the next wave of innovation.
Satya Nadella, CEO Microsoft stated “We’re thrilled about the partnership and we’re excited about getting this into the hands of customers to get them into hybrid cloud,” as per reports.
To get the new association rolling, Microsoft and Dell have agreed to join their networking software and pre-install Microsoft 365 cloud applications on Dell’s devices running Windows 10.
