Ellison and Wilson-Thompson Hop on Board at Tesla
Tesla (TSLA) announced this week that they have added two new Independent Directors to their Board. Larry Ellison and Kathleen Wilson-Thompson were welcomed to the company starting December 27.
The announcement comes after a months-long search to find directors who would bring unique skills to the Board of Directors while also having a passion for the work Tesla does with sustainable energy.
Ellison is well known for being the founder of Oracle (a cloud software company), and brings with him a strong reputation for entrepreneurship and philanthropy. He is also a strong proponent of Tesla’s vision and is invested in the company. Earlier this year, he even bought three million shares.
Wilson-Thompson has a strong background in human resources and will bring her expertise in that area to Tesla. She is currently the both the Executive Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer of Walgreens. In addition to her commitment to Tesla’s mission, she is skilled at forming great places to work. She also has about a decade of experience serving on boards as she was previously a director at two manufacturing companies.
